Availability and Booking

General information

The tariff is inclusive of electricity, heating and water.

Well behaved pets are very welcome on condition that they are not allowed on furniture, beds and bedding and are not left alone in the cottage at any time. We charge £20.00 / week per pet. Please bring own dog bed and linen.

A deposit of 25% of the total holiday cost is requested on reservation. The balance is payable at least 21 days prior to the commencement of the holiday.

Barn Croft may be occupied after 2.00 pm on the Saturday of your stay. The keys may be collected from ourselves, the housekeeper at Barn Croft or alternatively, within Porthleven village. Please ‘phone us to confirm arrangements for collecting keys.

Changeover day is Saturday. We do ask that you vacate Barn Croft by 11.00 am on the Saturday of the week of your departure. This does not leave us much time for cleaning or housework so visitors are asked to leave Barn Croft in a clean and tidy condition.

Please leave the keys upon the work surface in the kitchen and close the front door behind you. Thank you.

Bookings of less than a week are sometimes available out of season (November to February but excluding Christmas and New Year).

No smoking please within the cottage.

CONDITIONS OF RESERVATION

So that our guests may thoroughly enjoy their stay at Barn Croft and to avoid any misunderstanding during your holiday, the following Conditions apply. Please read them. We will be happy to answer any queries in advance.

Definitions
“The Hirer” – Dr Duncan Alan and Mrs Mandy Wynn. “The Guest” – the person making the declaration on the booking form together with, where the context so admits, the party on whose behalf such booking is made.
2. Reservations
A reservation is made only when our completed booking form together with the deposit are accepted in writing.
Cancellation by the Guest
The guest is responsible for the balance of the rental fee once the booking has been accepted, even if the guest is then unable to take the holiday booked for whatever reason. You are therefore, strongly advised to ensure against this possibility. If you chose to accept this risk, we will upon receipt of written instructions from you, attempt to re-let Barn Croft on your behalf, in respect of which we charge a commission of 10% of the total fee.
Cancellation by the Hirer
If the hirer should be forced to cancel at any time before commencement of the booking the hirer’s liability is limited to the amount of any money paid to the hirer.
The Accommodation
The guest undertakes to :
a) To keep the accommodation, furniture, fixtures and contents in as good a state of repair and condition as at the commencement of the letting.
b) To pay the hirer the cost of repair and replacement of any damage done to the accommodation or any furniture, fixture or item on the inventory list lost or destroyed or damaged due to any act or default of the guest.
c) Not to remove from the accommodation any furniture, equipment or item on the inventory.
d) To deliver up vacant possession of the accommodation in a clean and tidy condition not later than 11.00 am on the morning of departure to the hirer or to pay the excess cleaning charge incurred.
e) Not to do anything which may be a nuisance or cause disturbance to the hirer, other guests or neighbours, and to confine all arrivals and departures to and from the accommodation to reasonable hours of the day and evening.
Hirer’s liability
f) The hirer accepts no liability for any injury, loss or damage howsoever caused to the guest or any member pf the guest’s party save as it may have been caused by the negligence of the hirer.
g) Cars, boats and trailers are parked entirely at the owners risk.
h) The hirer accepts no liability for death or injury howsoever caused occurring during the letting except to the extent that the same is caused by reason of the structural condition of the accommodation or the negligence of the hirer.
